DIAGNOdent

Diagnodent uses laser technology to detect cavities on or under the surface of the enamel. Decay under the enamel reflects laser light differently than sound tooth structure resulting in a numerical readout and audio display. An audio tone allows the operator and patient to hear changes in the scale values, allowing the user to focus on the patient and the patient to be aware of the findings. The diagnodent is an extremely accurate (over 90%), reliable and non-invasive method to aid in detecting carious lesions not detectable with an explorer or bitewing X-rays.
